Class Description
Applying for an MFA? Don't worry about your GRE score, don't worry about your college GPA, because, in most cases, all that matters is your writing sample and your statement of purpose (the dreaded SOP). Many SOPs are as dry as a cracker. Too many MFA applicants treat them as cover letters when they should read more like short personal essays. In this course, we will brainstorm ideas for your SOP and do a lot of in-class writing followed by in-class feedback. You will leave the class with a solid start to the perfect SOP. Come ready to write!
Thanks to the excellent literary citizenship of our donors, scholarships are available for all GrubStreet classes. To apply, click the gray "APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP" button. In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your application at least one week before the start date of a class. Please await our scholarship committee's decision before registering for the class. We cannot hold spots in classes, so the sooner you apply, the better. Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively.
