Nuts and Bolts of Novel Planning: POV, Side Characters, and Endings

No Longer Enrolling

  • $85.00 Non-Member
  • $75.00 Member

Class Description

In novel planning, much focus is rightfully placed on characters and story beats. Yet there are several other elements that help to create a sound novel outline. This lecture-driven seminar will focus on the decision between a single and multiple POV narrator, the purpose of side characters and subplots, and how to create an ending that resonates.

Students who have previously taken other courses on novel planning, including the seminars: The Nuts and Bolts of Novel Planning: Character Goals and The Nuts and Bolts of Novel Planning: Story Beats will find this course helpful in rounding out the additional parts of their outline.

This course can be taken alone or in conjunction with the other seminars in this series: Nuts and Bolts of Novel Planning: Character Goals (March 15), The Nuts and Bolts of Novel Planning: Story Beats (April 5), Nuts and Bolts of Novel Planning: Setup and Payoff (June 7).

Class Format

This class will take place using Zoom videoconferencing. About 15 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, you'll receive an email from your instructor with a link to join the class meeting!
