Class Description
Are you in the morass of meandering, researching, and sketching your novel, but not able to get a firm hold? For those who are beginning a novel (or have begun many a book, but never finished) this seminar will provide a working outline for building the framework for your novel, using the “how do you eat an elephant” approach: one bite at a time.
Participants will, step-by-step, move from initial idea to outline. Seminar participants should bring their story idea/s, index cards, pens, a computer or notebooks, highlighters, pens and pencils (with eraser!) By the end of the day, participants will walk out having a skeleton on which to build their novel.
Thanks to the excellent literary citizenship of our donors, scholarships are available for all GrubStreet classes. To apply, click the gray "APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP" button. In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your application at least one week before the start date of a class. Please await our scholarship committee's decision before registering for the class. We cannot hold spots in classes, so the sooner you apply, the better. Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively.
