Class Description

Do you dig the dark and creepy? If you do and you're not a fan of Neil Gaiman's comics, short fiction, novels, screenplays, poetry, or essays, you will be soon. Neil Gaiman is one of the most prolific writers of our time. His works include the comic book series The Sandman and novels Stardust, American Gods, Coraline, and more! Through in-class readings and writing exercises, we’ll explore the myriad forms and characters that drive Gaiman’s writing.

Join Grub Street’s Young Adult Writers Program (YAWP), a FREE creative writing workshop for Boston-area high schoolers. Our students come from a wide variety of high schools in the Boston area, and enjoy cool writing exercises, mingling with fellow young writers, snacks, and an optional open mic. After four great years YAWP has already been recognized by the Boston Globe as Boston's hub for writing teenagers.
YOU MUST BE 13-18 YEARS OLD TO REGISTER-- NO EXCEPTIONS.
Scholarships Format/Location

Thanks to the excellent literary citizenship of our donors, scholarships are available for all GrubStreet classes. To apply, click the gray "APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP" button. In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your application at least one week before the start date of a class. Please await our scholarship committee's decision before registering for the class. We cannot hold spots in classes, so the sooner you apply, the better. Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively.
