About Kim
Kim Dawson Ohiomoba believes that stories shape lives, community, and the world. She comes to GrubStreet as an arts leader, educator, and artist shaped by nearly twenty years of building creative institutions that center young people, artists, and communities. Over the course of her career, Kim has served as Executive Director of Actors’ Shakespeare Project and Young Audiences of Massachusetts, Director of Advancement and Direct of Programs at ZUMIX, and most recently as Chief Development Officer at East Boston Social Centers, where she helped lead an organization grounded in equity, community voice, and values-based decision-making.
Kim’s professional work has always lived at the intersection of creativity and community. From leading youth arts programs recognized at the White House in 2011, to advancing anti-racism work in theater, to teaching future nonprofit leaders at Berklee College of Music, she has dedicated her life to building spaces that allow artists and communities to thrive. Across every role, she has been called to moments of challenge: rebuilding financial sustainability, guiding organizations through crisis, growing audiences, diversifying revenue, and strengthening boards and culture. Each time, she has returned to the same truth: people move when they feel seen, when they believe their voice matters, and when they know they belong.
