Welcome to the brand new GrubStreet website – a place we've lovingly revamped to create a more user-friendly, accessible, and mobile-friendly experience for you. As you navigate the new layout, we hope you'll find it an exciting and seamless transition from our old site.

Dept. of Congrats: January 2024 Community Successes

This new year started strong with many community success stories! Grubbies were published in literary journals across the country, won awards and prizes, secured book deals, and so much more. Our community is closing January 2024 out with forty-three publications, twelve awards and prizes, two book deals, and eight book publications! Let us celebrate you: submit your good news to GrubStreet’s Department of Congratulations.

Dept. of Congrats Spotlight: Milo Todd

GrubStreet is beyond thrilled to congratulate Novel Incubator alum and instructor for the Novel Immersive for LGBTQ+ Writers, Milo Todd! Milo's debut novel, The Lilac People, sold to Counterpoint and is expected to publish in Spring/Summer 2025.

GrubStreet is thrilled to attend the 2024 AWP Conference, where our staff members Dariel Suarez (Artistic Director) & Travon Godette (Manager of Youth Programs) will be presenting panels titled "Creating Literary Community for All: Literary Centers and Reaching the Underserved (T120)" and "Write On! Literary Centers on Fostering Sustainable Youth Communities (T229)" respectively.

Applications for the 2024-2025 Emerging Writer Fellowship are Open

As part of our mission to make sure that voices of every type and talent are heard, we developed the Emerging Writer Fellowship to eliminate some of the financial barriers to entry. Through this program, we hope to connect writers to a literary world – a world made richer and more relevant with the contribution of these voices.

Fabulist Cafe Temporarily Closed for Winter Months, Reopening Spring 2024

Starting December 24, 2023, Fabulist Cafe at will be temporarily closed throughout the winter months. We are aiming to reopen in the spring. We are taking a pause during the slower winter months as an opportunity to reinvent some new offerings for our cafe and look forward to sharing updates soon.
