Class Description
Publications, celebrities, that guy in your office who won’t stop talking about blockchain: seems like everyone has a podcast. It’s pretty easy to record yourself, do some basic editing, and publish your own show. But that radio magic that makes you feel like the reporter, storyteller, or host is in the room talking directly to you takes time and scripting. Writing can make or break a radio story or podcast.
This one-day workshop is for writers who want to translate their skills from the page to the airwaves. In the first half of the workshop we'll cover the basics through listening, discussion, short exercises we'll perform together as a class. In the second half, students will do some writing of their own and break out into smaller groups to work through their scrips and record each other.
This class is for writers of all levels with little to no radio experience.
