Class Description
Editing is its own craft, relying on a separate skill set from writing. As an editor, your instructor will share techniques that are often used while editing novel manuscripts to help authors polish their prose. In this seminar, we'll look at some big picture, story level aspects of your book, then we'll review the sentence level for things like redundancies and filler words. This course will give you ways to approach your manuscript, both systematic and strategic, so you can effectively edit on your own!
By the end of this class, students will be able to: analyze their novel draft, spot problems or weak areas, gain insight into overall story and characters, develop a plan to revise the novel efficiently with intention and approach the draft from the perspective of an editor, keeping the reader in mind.
This class is great for novelists of all levels.
