Class Description
Do you know what happens at your story’s midpoint? The midpoint is the focal point of your story and arguably the most important beat. It is often the moment that determines whether or not your characters reach their goal. What your characters realize and decide in this moment will chart their course to directly to the climax.
Novel writers of any genre are invited to join this class to unlock your story’s midpoint and learn:
- The techniques for creating an engaging and compelling midpoint.
- How it relates to the other beats of your story.
- How your protagonist’s decision and action in this moment will lift the second half of the story
We'll debunk the myths about midpoints and review examples from published works by Violet Kupersmith, Tommy Orange, Kristin Hannah, Andrew Sean Greer, and Jacqueline Woodson. Then we'll unpack recommendations to make sure the midpoint earns its place as the centerpiece of your story.
