Class Description
Class Description:
Do you have a love for metaphors and similes? Do you find yourself writing poems or lyrics in your journal that you often keep to yourself? If you've answered "yes" to at least one of those questions then you are a poet. Join this workshop to demystify the art of poetry. This class is strictly for those who want to finally own the inner poet. In this workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of poetry, connect with other young poets, and read poetry from some of your favorite poets. We'll read poems written by Elizabeth Acevedo, Nate Marshall, Alex Elle, and 826 Boston young poets. If you are beginning to embrace the art of poetry, then this workshop is for you. For writers age 13 - 18 ONLY.
Takeaway:
Students will leave with a few new poetic starts as well as a stronger sense of confidence as a poet.
