Class Description

This is a facilitated writing group designed for accountability and community building. An instructor will be present to facilitate and offer general guidance, but this is not a writing class, and it won’t involve craft lessons or in-depth feedback on your writing. Please check out our hundreds of writing class offerings for those features! These groups are a great option for anyone who’s at work on a project and looking to set aside some time each week to make progress on their writing and connect with others.

Parent writers unite! Seek support, advice and accountability from other parents also nurturing a writing project. Set aside a weekly space to check in with your writing self, and other writing parents, to keep your work alive and kicking through the endless demands of life in general, but particularly parenthood. For six weeks, this is your time to check in with your parent community, ask questions, share snippets from your work (only if you want!) and also force yourself to write during 2-3 short sessions, which will be spaced throughout the class. There is no required reading or pre-work—just show up! The instructor will be available throughout each session for one-on-one conversations about anything writing related.

Please note: This group does not meet October 9th (Indigenous Peoples Day).

Class Format

This class will take place using Zoom videoconferencing. About 15 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, you'll receive an email from your instructor with a link to join the class meeting!
